What we hold, and why.

This is about the roofing companies that use Bestimate. If you are a homeowner who received a quote, the company that sent it holds your information and publishes its own policy — ask them.

What we store
What you put in: your company details, your customers and their jobs, quotes, invoices, photos, measurements and the records behind them. Plus the ordinary technical logs any hosted service keeps.
Who can see it
You and the people you invite. Not other companies using Bestimate — every company is walled off at the database, not merely filtered in the app. We look only when you ask us to, or when we have to in order to fix something.
Your customers’ information
It is yours, not ours. You are the controller and we process it on your instructions. The data processing addendum in the terms sets out exactly what that means.
Selling or sharing
Never. We do not sell data, we do not share it between companies, and we do not use your customers’ information to advertise anything.
Getting it back
Export everything to one file whenever you like, from inside the app. No ticket, no fee, no waiting.
Deleting it
Delete your company yourself. Backups age out on their own schedule after that.
Where it lives
On our hosting providers’ servers, encrypted in transit. The subprocessors we rely on are named in the addendum.
Asking us anything
support@getbestimate.com. A person answers.

Said plainly: this is a pilot, and this page is written in plain words rather than legal ones. It is not a substitute for the terms, which govern, and it has not yet been through a lawyer. If you are signing as a pilot company and want the formal version first, ask and we will say so honestly rather than pretend otherwise.
